NISMO’s 41300-RSR30 is a particularly serious upgrade for the Nissan Skyline GT-R BCNR33: instead of developing an aftermarket brake system from scratch, NISMO adapts the OEM R35 GT-R braking hardware to the second-generation GT-R chassis.

Think of the conversion as:
BCNR33 chassis + R35 GT-R braking technology + NISMO engineered mounting system
The important point is that this isn’t simply an R35 caliper swap.

The R35 GT-R was engineered around substantially greater vehicle performance, speed and repeated braking loads than the original BCNR33.
The advantage isn’t simply “bigger brakes = better.”
It’s about the entire braking system:
Caliper stiffness → pad pressure → rotor thermal capacity → heat dissipation → friction consistency → pedal control
A stiff monoblock caliper helps minimize caliper deformation under high hydraulic pressure. That gives the brake pedal a more consistent relationship with pad force.
For track use, the bigger advantage is thermal stability. NISMO specifically developed this conversion under its Clubman Race Spec (CRS) philosophy of combining closed-circuit sports driving with road use, and states that the R35 system is intended to allow sustained circuit running with reduced brake fade.

NISMO officially lists BCNR33, BNR32 and BNR34 as compatible applications, with the BCNR33 receiving 41300-RSR30.
⚙️ The cleverest part: the brackets
This is where NISMO’s engineering becomes interesting.
The R35 caliper was designed for an R35 hub/upright geometry. The BCNR33 obviously doesn’t have that geometry.
So NISMO supplies purpose-designed front and rear caliper brackets to position the R35 calipers correctly relative to the BCNR33’s brake rotor.
The rear is even more interesting because the R35 rotor arrangement is adapted using a dedicated NISMO bell housing.
In other words:

BCNR33 chassis
That’s considerably more sophisticated than simply bolting an R35 caliper wherever it fits.
๐ Wheel clearance is critical
NISMO specifies 18-inch or larger wheels with adequate clearance. It has specifically confirmed compatibility with NISMO LM GT4 and RAYS TE37 wheels in 18-inch-plus applications.
This is important because brake clearance isn’t determined by wheel diameter alone. Spoke shape, barrel clearance and caliper position can all matter.

NISMO also specifies that additional brake fluid is required for installation and recommends MOTUL RBF 600 for extracting the intended braking performance.
๐ Why enthusiasts value this kit
The real attraction is OEM motorsport-style integration.
You aren’t putting an exotic aftermarket caliper onto an R33 simply because it looks impressive.
You’re effectively giving the legendary BCNR33 access to the braking architecture of the much newer R35 GT-R, while NISMO provides the chassis-specific hardware needed to make the system work.
BCNR33 + RB26DETT + R35 GT-R brakes = an exceptionally coherent GT-R evolution.
And that is exactly why 41300-RSR30 is much more interesting technically than a generic “big brake kit.”
Bottom line:
41300-RSR30 isn’t merely a brake upgrade; it’s a carefully engineered bridge between the R33 GT-R and R35 GT-R generations.
The biggest benefit is not just stronger initial braking, but rigidity, thermal capacity, repeatability and fade resistance—exactly the qualities that matter when a BCNR33 is driven hard repeatedly on circuit.
