This is a serious bottom-end rebuild package from JUN Auto Mechanic for the legendary Toyota 3S-GTE turbo four-cylinder.
The important point: 1029M-T004 is the BASIC-II version, not JUN’s more complete EX version.

JUN confirms that the BASIC-II uses the same 87 × 92 mm geometry as its EX 2.2L kit and incorporates a billet crankshaft.
🧠 Why 2.2L is such a big deal
The standard 3S-GTE is roughly 2.0L. JUN pushes it to 2.188L by increasing both bore and stroke.
That extra 188 cc gives the turbo engine more displacement leverage:
More displacement → more air/fuel capability → stronger torque potential → turbo doesn’t need to work as hard for the same output.
The 92-mm stroke also changes the character of the engine. Rather than building a 3S-GTE purely around enormous top-end RPM, the 2.2L configuration can provide a broader, stronger torque curve.
⚙️ The really exotic part: billet crankshaft
The crankshaft is 1003M-T003, JUN’s billet 3S-GTE crankshaft. JUN specifically identifies this crank as being used for both the EX and BASIC-II 2.2L Custom Kits.

A billet crank gives JUN considerably more freedom over the crank’s geometry, material and machining compared with simply modifying an OEM component.
