The FUJITSUBO A-S 360-52121 is a stainless-steel performance exhaust developed specifically for the Honda Civic Type R FL5 / K20C. FUJITSUBO positions the A-S around overall balance, styling and exhaust sound rather than an extreme racing configuration.

FUJITSUBO’s official testing reports 230 kW / 312.8 PS at 6,451 rpm versus 214 kW / 291 PS for the reference OEM system, while torque increased from 418.5 to 442 Nm.
🧠 Why the A-S is interesting
The important point isn’t simply “bigger exhaust = more power.” The A-S is engineered around the K20C’s turbocharged flow requirements, while retaining relatively conservative 60.5-mm tubing.
The result is a package that aims for:
OEM → A-S
11.7 kg → 8.5 kg
291.0 PS → 312.8 PS
418.5 Nm → 442 Nm
40–80 km/h: 3.5 s → 3.4 s
Those figures are FUJITSUBO’s internal test results, so they shouldn’t be interpreted as a guaranteed gain on every FL5.
🔊 Sound character
This is where the A-S differs from a very aggressive race-oriented FL5 exhaust.
FUJITSUBO measured:
- Idle: 66 dB
- 2,000 rpm: 81 dB
- 3,000 rpm: 81 dB
- Proximity measurement: 90 dB
So it is clearly more vocal than the reference exhaust while remaining designed as a balanced street/performance system.
⚠️ Important installation detail
This isn’t simply a bolt-on replacement of the complete OEM exhaust. The factory exhaust requires cutting, and the FL5’s original electronic exhaust-valve function cannot be retained with this system; FUJITSUBO supplies a valve canceller.
🏁 A-S vs FUJITSUBO A-RM
FUJITSUBO also lists an A-RM titanium model, 270-52114, for the FL5. The company’s own positioning makes the distinction fairly clear:
A-S 360-52121
→ street + performance balance
→ stainless construction
→ 8.5 kg
→ 118-mm titanium-finish tips
→ more understated engineering approach
A-RM 270-52114
→ more motorsport-oriented philosophy
→ titanium construction
→ substantially more expensive
→ aimed at reducing weight and prioritizing high-rpm performance.
My take: for an FL5 that sees spirited road driving + occasional track use, the A-S is the more rational FUJITSUBO choice. It gives you meaningful weight reduction and a stronger exhaust character without turning the car into an overly specialized track build.
