1. Funk Motorsport developed turbo & manifold blanket to improve performance, protection and reliability for your F80 BMW M3.

Industry leading construction of turbo blanket.
• Reduce temperatures by up to 90%.

2. Improve gas flow and increase performance; insulate the hot side of the turbo and retain the heat within the exhaust gases themselves.

3. Hotter gases accelerate faster leading to them leaving the system sooner improving spool up and throttle response. 

4. Insulating the hot side of your turbo also helps to lower the amount of heat from the turbo that dissipates into the engine bay and intake pipework.

5. A cooler air intake resulted in higher oxygen density for higher performance and more consistent power figures over time.

6. Gives better protection as turbo is an absolute furnace within the engine bay. Excess heat produced by the turbo can damaging sensitive components. 

7. Turbo blanket will turbo from oil lines, coolant lines and the like, even bodywork positioned close to the turbo from the dangers of excess heat.

8. Gives better reliability for your F80 BMW M3 turbo to reduce excess heat within your engine bay that may improve the reliability of electronics, temperature of coolant, fuel and oil lines.

9. Built with great technicalities:

– Specifically developed thread construction to for exceptional durability. The Funk new fireproof ultra-high temperature Stainless Steel thread is around 1mm in diameter and can withstand temperatures in excess of 1300°C.

– New, thicker internal heat lagging insulation to provide up to 3x improved heat reduction created from ceramic silica complex matting to improve durability over prolonged heat cycles.

– 4-layer construction for improved reliability.

– Uprated external Carbon Fibre twill and Titanium twill for an improved aesthetic and more durable finish.

1. Anderson Composites VIP carbon fiber parts are manufactured by spraying a coat of resin on the mold.

2. Then sheets of carbon fiber fabric are laid out across the mold and then a final coat of resin is applied on the fabric before being placed inside a vacuum sealed bag to cure (provides an excellent fabric-to-resin ratio). 

3. Once cured, the part is removed from the mold, trimmed and a final coat of gel coat applied and polished to protect the surface and increase the high luster finish.

1. The JE Pro Seal BMW S54 Series 87.5mm .044in Head Gasket Stepping up to Pro Seal MLS head gaskets from the composite or graphite units now are standard equipment on many factory engines.

2. This trend is being validated by more automakers offering MLS gaskets on select high-performance engines in their lineups. 

3. Also, all NASCAR and Pro Stock teams use MLS gaskets as composite fell out of favor and solid copper gaskets were not effective in sealing fluids. 

4. An abbreviation for multi-layer steel, MLS gaskets have taken center stage in the shop due to a number of engine-builder-friendly features. 

5. Granted, they can be a bit more expensive that conventional gaskets, however, the performance and durability advantages will pay off in the long run.

6. The “JE Pro Seal gaskets differ greatly from OEM gaskets,” said Jeremy Anderson of JE Pistons. 

7. “JE Pro Seal gaskets have a proprietary outer layer coating that prevents them from sticking to the deck surfaces. 

8. JE gaskets go through a heat treating and tempering process for good.

9. The basic premise of a MLS gasket is sandwiching three or more layers of thin steel that have been embossed in critical sealing areas. 

10. The embossments act as “springs” to ensure that there is no leakage of fluids or combustion pressure if the cylinder head moves or expands while the engine is under heavy load. 

11. The gaskets can also be coated to improve sealing in “micro” areas between the block, head and gasket.

5. The cover assembly is machined from billet aluminum with 25% more tensile strength than the competition’s cast unit.
