SPOON focused on the shape of the spring and chose barrel springs. Unlike general series of wound springs, barrel springs can have multiple rates due to differences in the diameter of the spring (size of winding). 

By taking advantage of the characteristics of this shape, SPOON have created a suspension that can use a low rate around 1G, which is responsible for ride comfort with a high rate at high-speed corners. 

Cornering performance improvement is crucial for CIVIC FL1 at mini circuits or street roads.
