SPOON ENGINE COMPLETE is assembled using the all new genuine Honda parts.

All edges of the cylinder block and cylinder head are deburred to avoid stress concentration and to prevent metal chips from falling out of the engine during the manufacturing process.

The weight of moving parts such as pistons, piston pins and connecting rods are kept within 0.02g for each cylinder.

The total weight of these moving parts are approximately at 1,100g (K20C), and the difference between cylinders is 0.002%.

Since the allowable weight difference of conventional Honda Type R series engines is 0.2%, SPOON indeed pursuing a precision of 100 times greater than that.

Uniformity of moving parts weight reduces imbalance and vibration with the rpm rises smoothly, giving you a pleasant feeling and great figures in power curves.

Furthermore, an important aspect of engine assembly is clearance management. The engine combines different materials such as aluminum and iron to achieve both strength and light weight.

An aluminum cylinder block is cast with an iron cylinder sleeve and an aluminum piston is incorporated as well.

The crankshaft, camshaft, intake and exhaust valves are also made of iron and are incorporated into the aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head.

Aluminum and iron have different thermal expansion coefficients, so their clearances change as the temperature changes.

For this reason, the clean room where engines are assembled is in air-conditioned to maintain a constant temperature throughout the year, enabling precise clearance control during assembly.

Experience the true nature of Honda engines, where highly precise parts are assembled by skilled mechanics in a properly controlled environment.
