Here are the advantages of the HKS GTIII-800 Full Turbine Kit for the Nissan R35 GT-R, based on its specs & features. 


What it is

The GTIII-800 KIT (Part No. 11003-AN016) is a full twin-turbo turbocharger upgrade for the R35 GT-R (VR38DETT). 

It employs symmetrical twin turbines in the GTIII-RS/GTIII-RSR specification. 

Boost preset is ~88.3 kPa (≈0.9 kgf/cm²) in the shipped kit. 


Key Advantages

  1. High Power Potential (~800 ps)
    • The kit is designed to allow the R35 to reach about 800 ps, provided the engine has supporting modifications (internals etc.).  
    • This is a major step up from stock turbo capability, giving much more top-end and high-speed potential.
  2. Improved Turbo Response / Linear Power Delivery
    • Uses light compressor wheels so boosting is more linear and less abrupt. Better responsiveness, particularly across mid-RPMs.  
    • Because of the symmetrical layout and revised turbo housings & wheel sizes (smaller turbine & compressor wheels vs some older models), lag can be reduced compared to very large turbos.  
  3. Symmetrical Twin Turbo Layout
    • Helps with balancing airflow and exhaust on both banks of the V-engine (i.e. VR38’s twin banks). This can improve spool times, reduce uneven stress, and promote consistent thermal behaviour.  
  4. Durability and Heat Resistance
    • Comes with a highly durable cast exhaust manifold, heat-resistant materials (cast steel where needed) for exhaust and turbo housing.  
    • Stainless steel wastegate returns.  
  5. Stable Boost Control
    • Incorporates twin GTII wastegates to ensure stable boost under varying conditions. This helps avoid boost creep and maintains more predictable power delivery.  
  6. Flexibility & Upgradability
    • The kit is suitable for both lighter tune-ups (replacing stock turbos with minimal supporting mods) and more serious builds (with upgraded engine internals) targeting higher power.  
    • Also, there is an upgrade kit version (GTIII-800 Upgrade Kit) for those already on GT800 which can convert to the GTIII-800 spec.  
  7. Preset for Off-road / Track Use
    • The spec comes preset at 0.9 kgf/cm² (≈ 12.8 psi) which is quite substantial; good starting point for track/race use.  
    • Note: the kit is “off-road use only” and meant “for use without metal catalyzer,” so it’s suited to non-street legal / track / motorsport applications.  

Potential Considerations (so you can weigh)

While these are advantages, for a full picture, some trade-offs or needs you should know:

  • Engine internals likely need upgrading to reliably handle the power (~800 ps) especially if pushing boost. Stock parts may not suffice at that power.  
  • Heat management, cooling, fuel system, and tuning are critical to make full use of the kit.
  • Installation complexity and cost (manifold, piping, wastegates, etc.).
  • Street legality (noise, emissions, catalyzer removal) may be affected.



**The GTIII-800 concept is putting 2 set of new HKS turbines in a symmetrical layout.

**Turbo system with a light compressor wheel will produce a very linear boost suitable for a light turbo upgrade.

**This turbo kit will reach 800 PS with some engine modification/ internal upgrade such as on conrods and pistons.  

**The Kit will inclusive of:
