*Intercooler Core
The most important component of any intercooler is the core. The core cools the charged air from the turbo before it enters the engine. 

The OEM BMW tube and fin intercooler is designed to support low boost levels and air flow. However, once boost levels and air flow are increased, the OEM unit is easily overwhelmed. It can’t support the cooling demands of a tune that running more than OEM boost levels. 

Heat soak will happen in which will result in a power loss and a higher possibility of pre-detonation in the upper RPM range.

VRSF had encountered the problem with an ultra high density 1100hp custom bar and plate core design which utilizes a staggered and offset internal and external fin pack. 

VRSF core has been carefully tuned to provide the the best intake temperature reduction while maintaining minimal pressure drop.

*Finish & Construction
The VRSF intercooler features CFD backed, cast aluminum end tanks for improved flow in comparison to sheet metal end tanks.

*Installation
All VRSF intercoolers feature tabs that allow the retention of the factory fan shroud. Everything are provided to replace the OEM intercooler, including custom molded couplers and stainless steel t-bolt clamps necessary for installation. 

The race intercooler requires trimming of the black plastic shroud behind the bumper. The bumper does not require trimming. Each VRSF intercooler is hand finished and pressure tested to ensure high quality and leak free experience.
