1. Fluidampr Engine Dampers are designed to control destructive vibrations from the crankshaft.

2. The ignition of air and fuel inside the cylinders formed the combustion that creates torque spikes.

3.  The torque spikes propagate to the crankshaft via pistons and rods.

4.  The severity of torque spikes may turn and twist the crankshaft from it normal rotation. 

5. This damaging twisting effect is known as torsional vibration. When aligned with natural frequency it can turn into torsional harmonic vibrations that are too destructive to the bearings and crankshaft.

6. The Destructive Torsional Harmonic Vibrations may happen many times in engine’s operating range.

7. Stock rubber and elastomer type dampers are aligned with one critical frequency only that tuned to factory setting.

8. Changing of parts such as crankshaft, rods and pistons will change the harmonic setting and the stock damper may not function as per current set up. This may lead to the failure of those engine components.

9. During engine operations, damper will create heat. Being a poor heat dissipator, the rubber type damper tend to crack that lead  to inertia ring slippage, uncontrolled torsional vibration that can be catastrophe.
